The ‘Papantla’ is a pre-Columbian archaeological zone near the city of Papantla, Veracruz, Mexico. It is believed that the city of Tajin was the capital of the Totonaca empire and reached its apogee in the transition to the Postclassic period, also known as the Mesoamerican Epiclassic Period, between 800 and 1150; El Tajín has several ball game fields and pyramidal bases.1
